A domain name says a lot about your company. It's the first thing people see when searching for your website. CatchTiger offers domain names in an open auction with domain names that are about to be released. Bidding is already possible starting at € 35, based on no cure, no pay.

OUR DOMAIN NAME AUCTION

We update the list of domain names in our auction every day. This means that new and interesting domain names may be up for grabs for you every single day. We have collected extra details about these domain names and summarized it in our very own “Tiger Score”. If a domain name scores a high Tiger Score, it often means that it is a popular one. But don’t be deceived! Even domain names with a lower Tiger score can be interesting for business.

In this video we will explain how the domain name auction works, but also explain the difference between the basic and expert mode, how to filter and sort domain names, and define the difference between a static bid and an autobid.

Create an account & place a bid

In order to place a bid during a domain name auction, you'll need a CatchTiger account. You can easily create a free account here. As soon as you have activated your account, you can place bids on domain names. When you are the highest bidder at the end, you are automatically the winner of that domain name auction. After that, we will do everything in our power to register the domain name for you. Note: every bid you place is binding! It is not possible to lower or cancel your bid.

Personal account

You can find every bid you have placed in your personal account. Not only the open bids, but also an overview of all the won and lost bids with their current status can be seen here. It is also possible to adjust bids and change your personal details from your overview. We will explain how all of this works in this video.

Open domain name auction & No cure, no pay

CatchTiger makes it possible to buy and sell domain names via open and transparent domain name auctions. With this system, everyone gets a fair chance to buy a good domain name. Should we fail to register your domain name, we won’t charge you: No Cure, No Pay. The odds we will register the domain name first, are very good.

Marketplace

It is also possible to sell your domain names via CatchTiger. In your personal account, you can find the item called “Marketplace”, where you can put your domain name up for sale. CatchTiger will take care of the entire sale process. Selling your domain name through CatchTiger also goes with the ‘No Cure, No Pay’ principle: you only pay when we sell your domain name.

Marketplace & redemption period domain names

In the domain name auction overview it is possible to filter domain names on marketplace and redemption period. The difference between these two is that marketplace domain names have been put up for sale by their original owners whilst a redemption period domain name can either be canceled by the owner or when the owner hasn’t paid its fees. The redemption period of 40 days gives the original owner the time to recover the domain name. After this redemption period, we try to catch the domain name when it has received a bid.

FAQ

I have lost my login details. Now what?

When you register a new account at CatchTiger, you need a username and a password. You need this information every time you log in; therefore, you have to keep them safe.

There's always a possibility that you lose your login details. Losing your password is solved quite easily. You can register a new password here. If you lose your username, then unfortunately; we can't help you. When such a situation arises; we advise you to register a new account.
Is CatchTiger also available as a stuffed animal?

If we receive more than 5,000 likes on our Facebook page, we will produce Catchtiger as a stuffed animal and make it available online. Even better, so we will raffle off 50 Catchtiger stuffed toys among the first 5,000 likes!
What happens when the auction is closed?

At CatchTiger there are two types of domain names: quarantine and marketplace domain names. A marketplace domain name has been put up for sale by the original owner. A domain name that is in the quarantine period has been canceled or not paid by the owner. After the quarantine period, the domain name is released to the entire public.

If there is a higher bidder with a quarantine domain name, we will do our best to register this domain name within 48 hours after the auction. If you are the highest bidder, we will of course keep you informed of the status of this domain name.

When you are the highest bidder for a marketplace domain name, we ensure that the move of the domain name runs smoothly. If there are no bids placed on the domain name, the auction period of the marketplace domain name will be extended by 30 days automatically and free of charge. A seller can choose whether he wants to sell the domain with a fix price or that potential buyers can make an offer for the domain names he wants to sell. If you opt for direct sales, you have to state your minimum selling price. If you choose to bid from, your starting price is optional. If you do not enter anything, it depends on the user's subscription for which amount he can place a bid. When there is an offer he can accept, ignore or make a counter offer through the transfer centre.
Why should I register a domain name?

A domain name says a lot about your company. It's the first thing people see which makes it important that it says more about what your company is all about. That aside, a good domain name is important for the findability within search engines. For example, if you wish to be found more easily using the search term "shoes", then try to buy a domain name which contains the word "shoes".
How do you know when a domain name expires?

Over the past few years we have built up a large database of domain names. Multiple times per day we check if any of these are about to expire. As soon as they do, they are put up on our website and the bidding begins.
